Dearest faithful readers,

Some of you may have noticed that my writing has been somewhat sporadic over the past few years. After the creative waterfall during lockdown, and for about a year afterwards, I found it harder and harder to remain consistent in my work. Other priorities — family and outside demands — took over. I needed time to reflect, pray, and reassess the direction God was calling me in my life.

Realisation

When I started oliviamccabe.com back in 2017 it was something of an experiment. I was a hobbyist dipping my toes into the waters of the blogosphere. I didn’t have a clear sense of direction about where it might lead. Instead, I allowed myself to feel my way, writing about whatever took my interest as I went.

I am proud of what I have accomplished over these years. I have built a significant body of work in the form of blog posts and the recorded daily reflections of Life in Lockdown. I am also proud of my book, Writing for Wellness. But as I prayed, I began to realise that my website and online spaces no longer reflected where I am now. I felt a desire for something calmer, clearer, and more aligned with the work I feel called to moving forward.

What Has Changed

So began a concerted effort to bring everything into alignment with where I am today. You will see a refreshed website design, with clearer themes of writing, faith, wellbeing, and creativity. You will also notice updated blog images and a structure that reflects these themes.

What Hasn’t Changed

What hasn’t changed is my desire to explore faith in a free and honest way, and to encourage creativity and reflection wherever I go. My hope has always been that we can walk this spiritual journey of life together. Nothing excites me more than seeing others thrive and shine. If something I write here offers even a small spark of inspiration — a catalyst for creativity or faith — then my work is done.

What Readers Can Expect

You will begin to see an increase in the number of blog posts I write. They will include reflections on faith, writing and creativity, along with occasional updates on projects and courses I am running.

I invite you to explore the new site with me. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you who has walked this journey with me so far, and also to those discovering oliviamccabe.com for the first time.

I can’t wait to see what God is going to do next.

Your sister in Christ,
Olivia
